Hayley Marie Coppin takes Canada by storm in this gloriously irreverent black-and-white adventure, striding into a restaurant deli counter with the confidence of someone who knows full well that the fur-trimmed jacket, short denim skirt, and chunky boots combo is going to cause a stir. She browses the food counter, grins at the camera from behind a display case, and walks the streets with the energy of someone on a very particular kind of mission, the mission spelled out in the set's description: going about daily life "with the intention of getting noticed." And in Nostalgic and Nude In Canada, she absolutely delivers.
By the time she steps onto the escalator, the denim skirt and top have come off, and Hayley rides the escalator in nothing but her open jacket, boots, and a grin that is part mischief and part pure joy. The black-and-white photography gives the whole escapade a nostalgic, cinematic quality, like a lost scene from a French New Wave film set in Canada, and Hayley moves through it all with the ease and spontaneity of someone who finds the whole situation entirely, perfectly, hilariously normal.
